A revelry of the imagination, presented with music and poetry.
It is with great delight that Raaja Ajaar is presented for you to experience with music and poetry, to share a revelry of the imagination.
Since it was written in 1976, it has lain dormant except for one theatrical performance in London which had an eager audience queuing up to see it. Surrender to its charms and share the journey with Raaja and Ajaar.
Ajaar:
“Oh my sweet moon you call and I answer
Filling me with brilliance you arise
afresh this time never to be repeated
I salute you with my entire being
I rejoice in the life which flows between us.”
Narrator:
She looks into the bottomless darkness of night.
She feels them staring like coals, dark, luminous in her skull.
It is as though generations have been silent till now
and in her they must finally be heard.
Aphrodite endows her with the power of love.
This is the thread that binds us all together.
Take courage and surrender to it.
Take strength and follow it.
